Honestly the first book in the series, Red Queen was splendidly written, the character development, the plot line the twist in the tale, everything was spot on! But from the second book onwards, things started going downhill, the story, instead of focusing on building the fantasy world, started to center on the romance between the characters. While reading a fantasy novel, readers expect to be drawn into the world, to live and breathe there, and all other narratives must come second. So when Aveyard started using the love story as a pivot for the whole plot, we were very disappointed. We have yet to read the fourth installment, so lets hope the author can salvage story!❤️
