A Heart Made of Ashes

Personally, while reading this book we were mutually on two ends of the spectrum for each piece of poetry.

.

On one side, all the poems felt real and heartfelt. We could tell that the author actually was neck-deep in a sea of heartbreak, betrayal and emotion.

.

However, on the other side, possibly owing to the lack of emotive vocabulary or even the absence of particular feelings, we felt that the very impressive stanzas written by the poet in context were mildly failing to move the reader, at least not as much as the author might've wanted to sway us in the face of anguish and sorrow. Also, much of the pieces were similar to each other and therefore eradicated the uniqueness of the work in its whole.

.

Overall we found it pleasant but maybe some changes to the style would take the poetry to another level entirely.

.

Thank you to @spectaclegirl04 for sharing the pdf of her work so that we could review it. Please excuse our tardiness on submitting it well past the deadline.
