We wont be giving you a synopsis of the book because many of you have already read it, instead we’ll give you a review of how WE felt while reading it.
So I think its safe to say that we cried after reading the first book, like duh, that was bound to happen. But what made us cry even more was the sequel, surprising right?! The reason for the was that ‘After You’ spoke about Louisa Clark AFTER Will Traynor, it spoke about her grieving, and how the once colorful, jolly, bubbly and happy Lou had turned melancholy, grey and bleak.
That is what shattered us, the reality of the fact that Will Traynor was indeed no more, and as he left, he had taken a part of Lou with himself, stripping her bare of all that made her happy, leaving her a shell of a person.😭
However, by the end of the book our tears of pain turned into tears of joy as we read about Lou finally moving on with life, never forgetting Will but not clinging onto the thought of him either, and finally coming to terms with the harsh reality she was faced with. The part that made us cry the most was Chapter 29, the one where she releases the white helium balloon into the air, in memory of Will, and the chapter ends with the sentence ‘I let mine go.’ WE. BROKE. DOWN.😭😭😭
